Server-Side Sync Overview
One of the most important features introduced in CRM 2013 is the addition of server-side synchronization. This update contains functionality for the purpose of providing an alternative for using the CRM email router and the Outlook CRM client. There are advantages, as well as limitations, which will be covered in the next section. It is to be installed as a server role while configuring CRM 2013, and it runs asynchronously as a back end server component.
