Insights and CRM

With Insights and CRM, you are able to access valuable business information related to your Accounts, Contacts, Leads, and Opportunities. This information will display directly on the respective record below the Contacts section of the Account, Contact, Lead, and Opportunity forms. Within the Insights window you will notice a plethora of information including contact data, company information, and news stories. The information displayed on the form is compiled by Insights and located in their database. Insights pulls data from its 30,000+ validated sources to display the information you need to better prepare for sales calls, qualifying Leads, monitoring prospects, and finding connections.

If you have purchased CRM Online, Insights is included at no additional cost for CRM Online Professional and Enterprise licenses in the U.S. and Canada.

Installing Insights

  1. Go to https://portal.office.com and sign in with your CRM System Administrator credentials.
  2. Navigate to Admin > CRM
  3. Navigate to the Manage all CRM Online instances page and select your instance to add the Insights solution and select Solutions.
  4. Select the InsideView solution option and click Install.
  5. Accept the Terms of service.
  6. To check the status of the Insights solution installation, see Status. You will first see Installation pending.

Once the installation is complete, you will see the status listed as Installed.

Accessing Insights

To access Insights from CRM, navigate to one of the following entities: Accounts, Leads, Contacts, or Opportunities.

Accounts

  1. Within the navigation, select Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Select Sales, Service, or Marketing.
  2. Select Sales, Service, or Marketing > Accounts.
  3. Open an Account record.
  4. Insights will display below the Contacts area.

Leads

  1. Within the navigation, select Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Select Sales, Service, or Marketing.
  2. Select Sales, Service, or Marketing > Leads.
  3. Open a Lead record.
  4. Insights will display below the Contacts area.

Contacts

  1. Within the navigation, select Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Select Sales, Service, or Marketing.
  2. Select Sales, Service, or Marketing > Contacts.
  3. Open a Contact record.
  4. Insights will display below the Contacts area.

Opportunities

  1. Within the navigation, select Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  2. Select Sales > Opportunities.
  3. Open an Opportunity record.
  4. Insights will display below the Contacts area.
